When stars like Adrian Brody or Snoop Dogg need a little styling
advice, they might give Michael Holdaway a call. Over the past
decade, Holdaway's work as a fashion stylist and costume designer
has been seen in print, music videos, motion pictures and on
television. Massiv, a hip, European fashion magazine, has recently
secured Holdaway's talents and named him US Contributing Fashion
Editor. The magazine, which is available in New York and Miami,
anticipates a national US launch in spring 2005. "Clothing
communicates a vibe and says a great deal about the person wearing
them," says Holdaway. "I'm excited to bring some stateside flair
and influence to Massiv magazine. It is a great honor to be named
the US Contributing Fashion Editor." Holdaway has worked with some
of the world's largest publications, including Vogue, ID, Interview
and London Times Magazine. He is the former fashion editor of Gene
Simmon's edgy Tongue Magazine. As a stylist, he has worked with the
Hollywood elite, transforming stars like Giovanni Ribisi, Hugh
Hefner, Dave Navarro and Christina Applegate. In February 2004,
Holdaway costumed the entire live, interactive Louis Vuitton
150-Year Anniversary Show in New York, styling looks from the 1890s
to the 1950s. He was the expert stylist responsible for
transforming a welder into a real model for the TV show, "Faking
It." Holdaway dedicates considerable time to community and
non-profit events. He will soon produce a cruelty-free "Compassion
in Fashion" show for The Humane Society of the United States, for
the second year in a row. |
